Fairy Nails! (NOTD)

Well, my nails don't have wings or even fairies stamped on them... They are just glittery and remind me of fairies! So that's what I named them! :)

This manicure is:
  • 1 Coat of OPI Ridge Filler
  • 3 (Thin) Coats of OPI Steady As She Rose (from the Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides Collection)
  • 2 Coats of Essence Space Queen
  • 1 Coat of Topcoat (sorry, I don't remember what I used)

This is a picture of me holding a Mini True Blue Spa Hand Lotion (from Bath and Body Works) in the scent paraffin. I really like it! I think I will be getting a full sized bottle!

Steady As She Rose had a great formula, but Space Queen didn't. It was gloppy, but I loved all the glitter! I think that some thinner will make it a lot better!

That's all I have for you today! I have some posts lined up.... Stay tuned! Thanks for reading!

Tattoo Nails! (NOTD)

Hello! Happy February and Happy Groundhog Day! I have a treat for you today.... Tattoo Nails!

I really like these nails! Not only do they look like some Old School Tattoos, but they were made with some fake tattoos! Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to make your own Tattoo Nails!
  1. Paint on your base color. Make sure this base color is COMPLETELY DRY! I waited overnight!
  2. Now prepare your tattoos. From your fake tattoo sheet, cut out patterns that are nails sized. You can make them a little bigger than the nail so that they look complete.
  3. Just apply like normal, fake tattoos. Wet a towel/washcloth, set the tattoo on your nail, and wet until the image transfers.
  4. Peel off and contine with all of your nails!
  5. ADD A TOPCOAT! This is very important. If you don't then the tattoo can peel off!
  6. Enjoy your awesome, easy nail art manicure!
For my base color, I used Sephora by OPI Going Nude, Eh? For my tattoos, I used Wet 'n Wild Fantasy Makers in Wild & Wicked Face & Body Tattoos from Halloween 2011.

I am really pleased with this manicure! You will be seeing more Tattoo Nails on Private School Polished!

Snow Bunny! (NOTD)

Yes, today I am a Snow Bunny! I recently used the Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Snow Bunny on my nails. I was up for a no-dry night, and I have to say that these turned out pretty well! My appologies for not posting the past 3 or 4 days, homework caught up with me! Here is a "box pic" and my manicure.

I wore this manicure with topcoat (pictured) and it lasted me about 4 days until I got tired of it. There was chipping at this point.

That's about it for today! Thanks for reading!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Glamoflauge Swatch

Hello! Welcome to the last polish of my Ulta Glitterati Series! Today I will be showing you Ulta Glamoflauge.

Glamoflauge is a black jelly with small purple glitter and medium purple hexagonal glitter. This is the only formula of the whole Ulta Glitterati Series that I have HATED, with a capital H. This manicure was: 1 coat OPI Ridge Filler, 3 coats of Ulta Glamoflauge, and 2 coats of Sally Hansen 4 in 1. I was going to add Wet 'n Wild Party of Five Glitters to "revamp" it, but the polished chipped off wayy to fast. Here is Glamoflauge.

Glamofauge:A duplicate of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance.

Also has a dupe called Revlon Facets of Fuchsia.

For my last day of the Ulta Glitterati Series, I will be doing "The True Review" over all four of the polishes. Stay tuned! Thanks for reading!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Black Tie Affair Swatch

Hi! It's another day of my Ulta Glitterati Series! Today, I have the swatch of Black Tie Affair to show you!

Black Tie Affair is a grey base with silver micro glitter and medium/small silver micro glitter. In the picture I used 1 coat of Sally Hansen 4 in 1, 3 coats of Black Tie Affair, another coat of 4 in 1, and OPI Rapidry topcoat.

Black Tie Affair:A duplicate of Nina Ultra Pro Glamrock.

Some think this is a supposed to be duplicate of Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale, but I don't think they are considering the Lippman seems to have bigger glitter particles than the Ulta.

And that is it for today! I hope that your weekend is going good! I know mine is! Thanks for reading!

Happy New Year! (NOTD)

Happy New Year!

It's not quite 2012 yet- there are still a few hours left in 2011! But I can go ahead and post, right?

Sephora had an after-Christmas sale, and had the Hello Kitty Holiday 2011 Liquid Nail Art Collection (that's a mouthful) on sale! Each polish was $5, when they are normally $10. I picked up 2 of the 4 colors.

All four colors from this collection can be seen at The Lacquer Room: http://thelacquerroom.blogspot.com/2011/12/hello-kitty-by-sephora-noir-nail-polish.html. Here are the two colors I picked up:

Night Sparkle, and Silver Star

Today's NOTD will be of Night Sparkle. Night Sparkle is a gold shimmer in a black base. I wore it yesterday by itself. This is Sally Hansen 4 in 1, 2 normal coats of color (it almost got away with 1, 1 think coat would probably do it), and another coat of Sally Hansen 4 in 1. My appologies for the messy cleanup.... I was in a hurry. My pinky shows the color best.

Earlier today, I decided it needed a little bit more "New Years Bling". So I decided to sponge on some gold glitter french tips. The gold holographic glitter I used was Del Sol Twinkle Toes, from last year's holiday collection. When you go outside, it's supposed to change to red, but it was dark, so that really wouldn't work that well. So here is the finished product, topped off with Sally Hansen 4 in 1.

I hope you had a great 2011, and have an even better 2012! Thanks for reading, have a great year!
