Ulta Fairytale Fashionista Mini Set

Ulta has come out with a new 4-Piece Nail Lacquer Mini Set, Fairytale Fashionista!

This mini set contains four mini, metallic nail colors. Perfect for spring!

I have to say, I am a little confused! This is what is on Ulta's website:

I am confused! Where is the light pink, why doesn't it describe a purple? Oh well, I hope to be going to Ulta soon, so I will check it out! I think these are beautiful colors, great for the upcoming spring!

Thanks for reading! :)

Maggie's First Time Stamping (featuring rainbow flakies!)

Hi everyone! How is your weekend going? Mine is going good!

A few days ago, I decided to try stamping for the very first time. It was a bit of a fail (it does take practice to get images to transfer perfectly), but I decided to keep it because it still looked cute!

I painted all my fingers except the ring fingers with Wet 'n Wild Black Creme, and my ring fingers in Wet 'n Wild French White Creme. I then stamped a full nail pattern (or supposed to be a full nail pattern) from BM207. I added a coat of Essie Shine of the Times from their Luxeffects Collection. The stamping was a fail, but I think it still looks cool! I got a lot of compliments! Everyone loves compliments!

I have a really cool nail design that I will be posting in the next few days! Thank you for reading! :)

Hair Look #1; Featuring Instagram

Hello everyone! How is your day going? I hope it is going well! :)

Today I am going to show you a hair look I wore a few days ago. It can be zero heat, unless you choose to use a blowdryer. Below are the instructions to acheive this look, but remember: Everyone's hair is different, so I don't know if this will work for your hair type. I tried this on my friend, and her hair was straight in the morning. Ok, onto the intructions...

Step #1: Take a shower the night before you want to weat this hair style. Wash your hair like you normally do. Make sure to get all of the shampoo/conditioner out of your hair.
Step #2: Let your hair dry half way, so it is half wet, half dry. You can either let it air dry, or you can blow dry it. Your choice as long as it is dried half way.
Step #3: Separate all of your hair into 2 sections.
Step #4: Pull the first section in front of your shoulder. Braid it in a normal braid and secure with a small ponytail. Don't make the braid too tight, but not insanely loose. Don't french braid the top either, or it will not give you very loose waves.
Step #5: Do the same with the second section of your hair.
Step #6: Go to bed, and get some sleep! Make sure you get atleast 6 hours so that your hair can completely dry!
Step #7: Wake up, and take the braid out! You should have nice wavy hair!
Step #8: Now you can pin some back, twist and pin, or braid and pin, or leave it normal like I did!

Here is my hair:

I used INSTAGRAM to edit the lighting in this photo, my hair is actually a little blonder, but I love this picture! I have an iPhone, so I used the Instagram app. It looks like this:

Thanks for reading! I thought I taught you a new hair technique! Have a great day!

Snow Bunny! (NOTD)

Yes, today I am a Snow Bunny! I recently used the Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Snow Bunny on my nails. I was up for a no-dry night, and I have to say that these turned out pretty well! My appologies for not posting the past 3 or 4 days, homework caught up with me! Here is a "box pic" and my manicure.

I wore this manicure with topcoat (pictured) and it lasted me about 4 days until I got tired of it. There was chipping at this point.

That's about it for today! Thanks for reading!

Born Pretty Review: Stamping Kit

Hello everyone! I have a special review for today! I will be reviewing "Hello Kitty & Floral Stamping Nail Art Kit W/ 3 pcs Nail Stamp" from Born Pretty Store! By the way, that's Born Pretty's title, not mine. Here is the kit pictured on the website:

(Born Pretty's Image)

I have to say, I was a little dissapointed when I got my package in the mail. It wasn't in this packaging! But that's okay, because I still got what I ordered, well....

This is what I got from Born Pretty, I got the stamper and plastic scraper (so I don't scratch my plates), the 2 plates, and 3 polishes. Here's the thing: The website advertised Blue, Red, and Green Stamping Polishes, but I recieved Black, White, and Red Stamping Polishes. But that's okay because I am a beginning stamper and I needed these anyway. Just a little false advertising, but I am still happy with the colors I recieved.

Okay, here are the two plates I recieved. B87 and B91. The same plates advertised on their website.

Now for the stamping polish review! I am a little dissapointed, but normal (if opaque) polish works pretty well also. Over Black, I stamped the red and white. You can see the white pretty good, but no trace of the red. Over White, I stamped the red and black. The black transfered best, but the red was not horrible. Over Pink, all three were tested. The black and white transfered best. Probably not as good of quality as Konad, but I am satisfied.

I really liked this set! It is perfect for a stamping beginner like me to get some supplies at a decent price! Gotta love it! If this were to be rated out of 10 stars, it would be a 7.5. I didn't get the colors I expected, but that's okay. Thanks for reading!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Conclusions and Wrap-Up

Hello everyone, and welcome to the last day of my Ulta Glitterati Series! I will start out by posting a recap of all the links to the different Ulta Glitterati Posts!

Introducing: Ulta Glitterati Series!

Ulta Glitterati Series: The Polishes

Ulta Glitterati Series: The Comparisons

Ulta Glitterati Series: Hide and Go Sequins Swatch

Ulta Glitterati Series: Hide and Go Sequins Revamped

Ulta Glitterati Series: Fashionably Late Swatch

Ulta Glitterati Series: Black Tie Affair Swatch

Ulta Glitterati Series: Glamoflauge Swatch

I just now noticed that the picture is off center! 13 year old mistake. You won't be seeing many of those anymore- I'm 14 now, haha! :)

Now for my opinions on all of the four polishes, and the collection!

Hide and Go Sequins: I loved the formula on this! 3 easy quick drying coats! 2 coats of topcoat for a glass-smooth manicure! Probably a tie with Fashionably Late for my favorite of the collection!

Fashionably Late: I love this color, mainly because red and black are my favorite colors! The formula was amazing- 3 thin, easy coats... or 2 thicker coats! I think it used 2 coats of topcoat! Once again, a tie with Hide and Go Sequins for my favorite of the collection!

Black Tie Affair: This was very pretty, but it's a common glitter color! It only took 2 coats! No problems with application. This used 3 or more coats of topcoat!

Glamoflauge: I HATED the formula on this, it was horrible! It took 3 very messy coats, and 3 or more coats of topcoat. I didn't like it. If you want a color like this, buy Deborah Lippman Bad Romance or Revlon Facets of Fushia!

Overall Collection: I really liked the first 3 colors, but Glamoflauge was a huge letdown. I would possibly buy this at normal price, but it would be even better on clearance! If you are looking for some good dupes in small bottles, GET THIS! You won't be let down- except for Glamoglauge.

And that is the ULTA GLITTERATI SERIES! I will be showing a few product reviews and a really cool manicure soon! Stay tuned! I really feel like posting the song I am listening to now! I love Michael Jackson! Here it is, Micahel Jackson Invincible from the Invincible album!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Glamoflauge Swatch

Hello! Welcome to the last polish of my Ulta Glitterati Series! Today I will be showing you Ulta Glamoflauge.

Glamoflauge is a black jelly with small purple glitter and medium purple hexagonal glitter. This is the only formula of the whole Ulta Glitterati Series that I have HATED, with a capital H. This manicure was: 1 coat OPI Ridge Filler, 3 coats of Ulta Glamoflauge, and 2 coats of Sally Hansen 4 in 1. I was going to add Wet 'n Wild Party of Five Glitters to "revamp" it, but the polished chipped off wayy to fast. Here is Glamoflauge.

Glamofauge:A duplicate of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance.

Also has a dupe called Revlon Facets of Fuchsia.

For my last day of the Ulta Glitterati Series, I will be doing "The True Review" over all four of the polishes. Stay tuned! Thanks for reading!

Maggie's 14th Birthday! My Birthday Look!

Hello everyone! Today is my 14th Birthday! I am so excited! Let me share my "Happy Birthday" look with you! I hope you like it!

Here are my birthday nails! It's Orly Fowl Play! This was my first Orly polished, and I am impressed! I will be buying more! And definitely wearing Fowl Play again, it's like a party on your nails, but you aren't glitter bombed, lol!

Here is my hair/face/acessories! More about all of these in a few seconds!

Here is my eye look. My eyes look green in this picture, but they are actually blue/green! I am wearing my normal mascara, a thin layer of CoverGirl, continued with Clinique. More about shadows below!

Here are the shadows I am wearing! The picture explains itself!

And here are the accessories I am wearing! Once again, the picture explains itself. I just realized I didn't include my earrings! But I love these earrings, so they will get a post of their own sometime!

This is a pretty short post, but it's my birthday, and I have things to do! The Ulta Glitterati Series will be finishing up soon! Well, I'm off to go eat dinner with my family! Thanks for reading!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Black Tie Affair Swatch

Hi! It's another day of my Ulta Glitterati Series! Today, I have the swatch of Black Tie Affair to show you!

Black Tie Affair is a grey base with silver micro glitter and medium/small silver micro glitter. In the picture I used 1 coat of Sally Hansen 4 in 1, 3 coats of Black Tie Affair, another coat of 4 in 1, and OPI Rapidry topcoat.

Black Tie Affair:A duplicate of Nina Ultra Pro Glamrock.

http://stephscloset.com/blog/beauty/2011/08/778/comparison-swatches-nina-ultra-pro-in-glamrock/
Some think this is a supposed to be duplicate of Deborah Lippmann Today Was A Fairytale, but I don't think they are considering the Lippman seems to have bigger glitter particles than the Ulta.

And that is it for today! I hope that your weekend is going good! I know mine is! Thanks for reading!

Friday the 13th! Informative Post....

I DON'T OWN THIS IMAGE! Lol...

Haha! Today is Friday the 13th! I wonder if anything terrible will happen! The title makes this sound like I'm dedicating a post to informing you about Friday the 13th, but I'm not. This post will actually tell you all about some new things going on in the polish world, Private School Polished, and MAGGIE! Lol.

The first thing I have to share with you is...
Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Valentines Day 2012 Collection!
I recently made a post about this new collection, but I found a full display in a Walgreens about a week ago!
Click the link below to go to my first post about these!

Here's another new Sally Hansen product... There has been somewhat of a hype over this.
Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure "2012"
I ran across this at the same Walgreens. Scrangie has two posts on this:

I'm not sure if you have noticed or not, but I have 2 new tabs! They are: Giveaways! and Contact Me. They are both pretty self explanatory, so I won't go into a big deal. Just thought I would let you know! :)

I DON'T OWN THIS IMAGE!

Yes, Happy Birthday! To me! It is not my birthday yet, but it will be on January 18th! I will be showing you all my nails, hair, and makeup that day! Just FYI!

Thanks for reading! I hope I informed you a little bit! Have a great Friday the 13th!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Fashionably Late Swatch

Hello, and welcome to another day of my Ulta Glitterati Series! Today, I have the swatch of Ulta Fashionably Late!

Fashionably Late is a black jelly base with red small square and red medium hexagonal glitter. For this manicure, I used Sally Hansen 4 in 1, 3 coats of Fashionably Late, all topped off with another coat of Sally Hansen 4 in 1 and OPI Rapidry Top Coat.

Fashionably Late:
A duplicate of Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers.
Also has a dupe called Wet 'n Wild Behind Closed Doors.

Here is a book I really recomemd! It's Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech!

And that is Ulta Fashionably Late! There will be no "revamped" of this manicure, but I will have another Glitterati Swatch coming soon!

I must appologize on my lack of posting for the past few days. School swamped me out... completely. I will be back on a normal, daily posting schedule very soon! Thank you for reading!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Hide and Go Sequins Revamped

Hello! Sorry for not posting yesterday, it was a very busy day! Now, onto the real business...

So, I wore Ulta Hide and Go Sequins alone for a day. The glitter is a little sparse, so I decided it needed something! I went digging in my stash, and I found my wonderful OPI Last Friday Night Mini! This came out in early 2011 for OPI's Katy Perry Collection. These pictures are 3 coats of Hide and Go Sequins with 1 coat of Last Friday Night, topped off with Sally Hansen 4 in 1.

I got a little distracted doing homework, lol.

After a day of wearing Last Friday Night over Hide and Go Sequins, I decided to top it off with Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love. I loved it!

I hope you liked Hide and Go Sequins Revamped! In the next two days I will be showing you Fashionably Late! Today was my 10th post! Hopefully there will be many more after this one! Have a great day, thanks for reading!

Ulta Glitterati Series: Hide and Go Sequins Swatch

Hey! Welcome to Day 4 of my Ulta Glitterati Series! Today I bring you the Hide and Go Sequins swatch!

Hide and Go Sequins is a navy blue jelly filled with small blue glitter, large blue glitter, large green glitter, and large silver glitter! This manicure was a base coat of Sally Hansen 4 in 1, 3 coats of Ulta Hide and Go Sequins, all topped off with Sally Hansen 4 in 1, and OPI Rapidry Top Coat.

Hide and Go Sequins:A duplicate of Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe.

There was a lot of fuss over these two polishes! I understand why though!

Those are all of the duplicates that I know of! If there are any others, let me know! Wacky Laki has a post of finger swatches for the Ulta Glitterati Collection. She compares Wet 'n Wild Behing Closed Doors with Ulta Fashionably Late and Revlon Facets of Fuchsia with Ulta Glamofauge there. Check it out:

And I Am A Material Girl (Guest NOTD)

'Cause we are living in a material world,
And I am a material girl,
You know that we are living in a material world,
And I am a material girl.

China Glaze recently released a new holiday collection in addition to their Let It Snow Holiday Collection. This new collection's name is Eye Candy. All 6 polishes released in the Collection are 3D Glitters, meaning that they are made out of more than one type of glitter, and inspired by Marilyn Monroe.

One of my best friends, Leila (who also shares a love of nail polish), got me 2 of the collection's polishes, Lorelei's Tiara and Material Girl. Material Girl will be the polish I am showing you today!

This is my mom, wearing Material Girl. This polish is in a clear base and contains pink-rose colored micro, small, and medium sized glitter in addition to medium-large holographic hexagonal glitter. This is for sure a 3D polish, it's beautiful. Material Girl looks really good on my mom!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope your New Year is getting off to a great start!
